Top Gear Trilogy – Nate’s RetroPlays

In this video, I am taking a detailed look at the first 3 titles in the Top Gear racing game franchise on the Super Nintendo Entertainment System.

All three of these games were developed by Gremlin Interactive and published by Kemco for the SNES.  An exception to that, Top Gear 2 was additionally published to the Sega Genesis (or Mega Drive) by Vic Tokai. Gremlin is also known for developing and publishing the Lotus series of racing games which uses the same game engine and play similarly to the Top Gear titles.

  1. The SNES Top Gear games were really fun. The N64 games continued to be decent, especially Top Gear Overdrive, but the series wasn’t quite the same, and eventually faded out after that generation.

    • I never had a chance to check out the N64 games, though I do remember seeing them. I always thought they looked “OK”, but didn’t really catch my eye very well. Thanks for checkout out my post!
