StarTropics for the NES – Nate’s RetroPlays

In this video, I am playing StarTropics for the Nintendo Entertainment System (NES) for the first time ever!  I was able to make it past the first main boss (the octopus) in Chapter 3.

StarTropics is a top down action adventure game that was released in North America and Europe in 1990.  It is often compared to Legend of Zelda in it’s play style, though it is has it’s fair share of unique elements and graphics.

You play as Mike Jones who is in search of his lost uncle who is an archeologist who lives in tropical village of Coralcola. You meet a variety of characters and wild enemies on your journey through the game.

(NOTE: I typically do a full review of games here on Skirmish Frogs, but I want to wait until I play more of this game before doing that.)
