As most of you probably know, this year was huge for the Pokémon series, with the 20th anniversary in February, and just a few days ago the release of the much anticipated Sun & Moon. To celebrate this monumentous occasion, a group of video game cover artists known as Pixel Mixers (of which I am a proud recent member) released a new album featuring Pokemon Red, Blue, and Yellow (technically Green as well, but none of us are Japanese). If this sounds interesting, why don’t you just check out the trailer below to see some great music!
As with all albums released by this group, it’s entirely free, and pretty awesome too! A lot of hard work went into this, and I would say it definitely paid off. So what are you waiting for? If you like music, Pokémon, or even better, both; then you can download it here right now!
In the meantime, if you want something else to listen to, I almost finished a cover for this album. With only one week to go they person responsible for “Silph Co.” dropped, so I eagerly accepted the challenge. Luckily someone even better (the amazing Swedish rocker VictorTheGuitarNerd) made another version of the track to fill the spot, but I released my version anyways since I was proud to have done something in one week.
Let’s see here… this article wouldn’t be complete without a good Pokémon pun. I know! Even if you don’t like the album (which I doubt), you’ve got to admit, as for songs, we played ’em all!
